Webinar: Improve Flaw Detection in Aerospace with Advanced Technologies
Zetec will host a one-hour webinar in May titled “Improve Flaw Detection in Aerospace with Advanced Technologies”. The webinar is completed. Click here to view webinar recordings.
Ultrasound (UT) and Eddy Current Array (ECA) technologies have enhanced the practice of flaw detection in the aerospace industry. Unfortunately, key challenges exist regarding some techniques. For conventional UT, it can be difficult to inspect components with complex geometries and ultrasound inspections can be time consuming. For ECA, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) can limit the ability to detect very small flaws and loss of material that can occur in friction stir welds and multi-layer structures susceptible to corrosion and fatigue cracking. Plus, minimum flaw size and required data density affect scan speed when using ECA. As speed increases, the minimum flaw size requirement becomes larger. Furthermore, existing ECA solutions lack true portability resulting in user fatigue and logistical challenges when trying to inspect hard-to-reach locations.
Zetec introduces highly portable solutions: one using more efficient and advanced Phased Array Ultrasound technology and another featuring industry-leading signal-to-noise ratio in an Eddy Current Array instrument, eliminating the need to sacrifice scan speed for superior flaw detectability.
In this webinar, we will demonstrate proposed solutions that deliver exceptional flaw detectability quicker than most inspection options in the market today. Additionally, the webinar will showcase a proposed solution that enables users to comfortably inspect those hard-to-reach areas that other solutions cannot.
